Stefanie Harman is an experienced Nurse Practitioner that specializes in adult health. She graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), then graduated from East Carolina University in 2008 with her Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) and became certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. She has worked in Family Practice since 2009 seeing patients older than 13. She is married and lives in Wilmington, and has two daughters.
Dr. Shumate is Board Certified by the American board of Family Medicine and has over 15 years of clinical experience. Dr. Shumate attended Glenville State College, Glenville, West Virginia where he received his Bachelor of Science. He conducted his internship at the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Dr. Shumate then attended the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine located in Lewisburg, West Virginia where he received his Doctor of Osteopathy. Dr. Shumate also completed his residency of family medicine at the United Hospital Center. Dr. Shumate has extensive experience in private practice and as a staff physician. He previously practiced privately at the Family Medical Clinic in Jane Lew, West Virginia and has served as a staff physician at the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, West Virginia and at the Stonewall Jackson Memorial hospital located in Weston, West Virginia. His additional professional experience includes serving as an Outpatient Physician for the Summersville Rural Health Clinic, as a staff physician and as Director of Pulmonary Rehabilitation for the Summersville Regional Medical Center located in Summersville, West Virginia. Dr. Shumate is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Osteopathic Association, American Medical Association, and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. He is also a member of the Sigma Sigma Phi National honorary Association and the Psi Sigma Alpha National Honorary Association.
Dr. Denise Gallagher has over ten years of experience in medicine. She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Medicine. Dr. Gallagher attended the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa where she earned her Doctor of Osteopathy. She attended residency in Family Medicine at the St John West Shore Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio and at the Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio. Prior to joining the Jacksonville Children’s and Multispecialty Clinic, P.A., Dr. Gallagher was employed by Marymount Care Services in Broadway Heights, Ohio and at the Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Gallagher was influential in championing the cause for the Jacksonville Children’s and Multispecialty Clinic, P.A. to implement a partnership with the Reach Out and Read (ROAR) program.
Dr. Alex Chavez has over 25 years of experience in practicing family medicine. He is a member of the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Chavez attended the University Of Michigan School Of Medicine where he earned his Doctor of Medicine. He received his residency training in family medicine at the U.S. Naval Hospital located in Jacksonville, Florida. Prior to joining the Jacksonville Children’s and Multispecialty Clinic, P.A. in 2006 he practiced at the East Carolina Internal Medicine and the Cape Fear Valley Health System. He is licensed by the North Carolina Medical Board.
Luanne Sheaffer has over 22 years of clinical and research experience. She graduated from the Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina with her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Prior to pursuing her physician assistant training, Luanne obtained her Masters of Public Health and worked in public health program management at the North Carolina Division of Maternal and Child Health and the University of North Carolina’s Injury Prevention Research Center and Department of Community Pediatrics. Since becoming a physician assistant, Luanne has primarily worked in family practice and pediatrics. Luanne sees patients of all ages for chronic medical problems, as well as acute care concerns. She enjoys treating individuals at various life stages and assisting with preventive care so that chronic medical problems may be avoided. Luanne leads the Jacksonville Children’s and Multispecialty Clinic, P.A. Quality Improvement team. Luanne is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and is a Certified Physician Assistant by the National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Trina Owens is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of Nursing, East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. Trina later earned her Masters of Science in Family Practice Nursing from the School of Nursing, University of North Carolina-Wilmington located in Wilmington, North Carolina. Trina has over 20 years of clinical experience. She is actively employed at the Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, North Carolina and care provider with the Jacksonville Children’s and Multispecialty Clinic, P.A.
Dr. Alexis Alexander Epperly is a family physician with 15 years of clinical experience. Dr. Epperly earned her Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in Biology at the John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She then attended the Uniformed Service University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland where she received her Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Epperly completed family medicine residency at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Florida. During her Naval service, she served in many capacities to include clinical, leadership, and academic roles. She provides care for all ages, promoting preventive medicine while taking care of your acute and chronic medical needs. Dr. Epperly is licensed by the North Carolina Medical Board, a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Mary Bundle received her Master of Health Sciences from Lock Haven University in Lock Haven Pennsylvania. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed by the North Carolina Medical Board. Mary is a member of American Academy of Physician Assistants and the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants. Mary has practiced in the Richlands area for the past 10years and she provides services for adult and pediatric patients. Ms. Bundle is committed to continuing to provide quality care and improving the lives of her patients.
Tina Reagan is a Family Nurse Practitioner with experience in both Adult and Pediatric Medicine. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2003 from the University of Southern Mississippi. She later received her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) from the University of South Alabama in 2013. Tina is certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioner (AANP). She is committed to providing quality health care to persons of all ages. Tia lives in Maple Hill North Carolina with her retired Marine husband and two children.
Erika Wittler graduated cum laude with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 2009. Shortly after she commissioned in the United States Navy Nurse Corps and competed one tour in Afghanistan while on active duty. Erika spent the majority of her RN career as a Certified Emergency Nurse and has worked in multiple level one trauma centers along the southeast coast. In 2016 she graduated from Georgetown University with her Masters of Science in Nursing as a FNP and is certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Erika lives in Hubert with her active duty husband and daughter. They enjoy boating, fishing, hiking and biking in their free time as well as occasional skiing trip back to Erika’s home state of Colorado whenever they get the chance.
Katie Alwes is a Family Nurse Practitioner certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She enjoys providing comprehensive, quality care for both pediatric and adult patients in the Sneads Ferry office. Her clinical areas of interest include women’s health, geriatrics, management of chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, and acute illnesses. Katie graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Radford University in 2008 and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2017. Katie has clinical experience in a variety of healthcare settings including the emergency department, critical care, home health, hospice, and primary care settings. Katie lives in Jacksonville with her husband and two children and enjoys spending her spare time at the beach, camping, hiking, and traveling.
