Ishwar H. Gopichand, M.D., FAAP

Dr. Ishwar Gopichand is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and has over 22 years of clinical and medical field experience. He attended the College of Science at the University of the Philippines in Dillman, Quezon City, Philippines where he earned his Bachelor Science degree. He then continued his learning at the College of Medicine at the University of the Philippines where earned his Doctorate of Medicine. He has provided several lectures for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation research in pediatrics throughout the nation. He has presented lectures at the Infectious Disease Society of America in San Francisco, California and at the Midwest Society for Pediatric Research in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Gopichand is active in ongoing research endeavors and has conducted research in Burkitt’s lymphoma, and Bone Marrow Transplantation in Children. Dr. Gopichand serves as a physician member for the Onslow County Board of Health. He is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Medicine. He is a fluent speaker of the Filipino and Sindhi languages. Dr. Gopichand’s personal interest includes jazz and pop music, and souvenir collecting.

Alex Y. Tse, M.D

Dr. Alex Tse has over 35 years of extensive pediatric clinical experience and in-depth interest in allergy and immunology. Dr. Tse attended the University of Hong Kong and completed his Pediatric residency training at the College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Tse received an academic appointment as a clinical instructor for the Department of Pediatrics, New Jersey College of Medicine in Newark, New Jersey. Dr. Tse has chaired and been a member of numerous committees for the Onslow Memorial Hospital; the Quality Assurance Committee, the Infection Control Committee, the ICU/CCU committee, and the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff of Onslow Memorial Hospital just to name a few. He is Board Certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and a member of the American College of Allergists. Dr. Tse is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Medicine.

Madhur Mittal, M.D., FAAP

Dr. Mittal graduated from All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. He completed his Pediatric Residency there and also at St. Lukes / Roosevelet Hospital Ctr in New York. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Georgetown University Medical Center in 1997. He is Board Certified in General Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. He has been on the medical staff at the clinic and at Onslow Memorial hospital since 1997.

He serves as the Medical Director for Neonatal Services at Onslow Memorial Hospital and as the President and CEO of Jacksonville Children’s and Multispecialty Clinic.

Charlotte Weitz, P.A.-C

Charlotte Weitz attended Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine located in Augusta, Georgia where she received her degree as a Physician Assistant. Charlotte specializes in Pediatrics and has over 11 years of clinical experience. She has been a member of the Jacksonville Children’s and Multispecialty Clinic, P.A. since 2005. Charlotte previously worked at Kids-Med, LLC, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Medicine as Physician Assistant.

He completed his Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology at Silliman University in Dumaguete City, Philippines and then earned his Medical Degree at Cebu Institute of Medicine in Cebu City, Philippines. He completed his post graduate internship at Silliman University Medical Center located in Dumaguet City, Philippines. Dr. Olegario completed his pediatric residency at the King’s County Hospital Center located in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Olegario has been affiliated with the Arden Hill Hospital (Orange Regional Medical Center located in Goshen, New York and Saint Anthony Community Hospital located in Warwick, New York. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and currently serves as the Chairman for the Department of Pediatrics for the Onslow Memorial Hospital located in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Kim Lewis

Kim Lewis graduated cum laude with a BS in Biology from the University of NC at Wilmington. She then attended the Physician Assistant program at The George Washington University where she earned her masters degree and was recognized as the most outstanding student in her class. She began her career as a hospitalist and part of a trauma/general surgery team and one year later transitioned to pediatrics. Since then, she has devoted her career to serving the children and families of Onslow County. She has 15 years of clinical pediatrics experience and is licensed by the NC Medical Board. Kim, her husband and three children reside in Jacksonville. They enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, skiing and just about any activity outdoors!

Dr. Skaskiw grew up in New York and undergraduate degree as a double major in Biology and Psychology at State University of New York in Oswego NY. She attended medical school at the American University of the Caribbean at St. Marten and completed her Pediatric Residency training at St. John Hospital in Detroit Michigan. Dr. Skaskiw has worked as a General Pediatrician in the Carolinas for over ten years. She is board certified and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics for over 10 years. Dr. Skaskiw lives in Jacksonville with her husband and two children and enjoys nature, gardening and swimming.

Erika Wittler, FNP

Erika Wittler graduated cum laude with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 2009. Shortly after she commissioned in the United States Navy Nurse Corps and competed one tour in Afghanistan while on active duty. Erika spent the majority of her RN career as a Certified Emergency Nurse and has worked in multiple level one trauma centers along the southeast coast. In 2016 she graduated from Georgetown University with her Masters of Science in Nursing as a FNP and is certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Erika lives in Hubert with her active duty husband and daughter. They enjoy boating, fishing, hiking and biking in their free time as well as occasional skiing trip back to Erika’s home state of Colorado whenever they get the chance.

Katie Alwes is a Family Nurse Practitioner certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She enjoys providing comprehensive, quality care for both pediatric and adult patients in the Sneads Ferry office. Her clinical areas of interest include women’s health, geriatrics, management of chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, and acute illnesses. Katie graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Radford University in 2008 and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2017. Katie has clinical experience in a variety of healthcare settings including the emergency department, critical care, home health, hospice, and primary care settings. Katie lives in Jacksonville with her husband and two children and enjoys spending her spare time at the beach, camping, hiking, and traveling.

Prior to joining the Jacksonville Children’s and Multispecialty Clinic, P.A., Dr. Gallagher was employed by Marymount Care Services in Broadway Heights, Ohio and at the Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Gallagher was influential in championing the cause for the Jacksonville Children’s and Multispecialty Clinic, P.A. to implement a partnership with the Reach Out and Read (ROAR) program.

She graduated from the Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina with her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Prior to pursuing her physician assistant training, Luanne obtained her Masters of Public Health and worked in public health program management at the North Carolina Division of Maternal and Child Health and the University of North Carolina’s Injury Prevention Research Center and Department of Community Pediatrics. Since becoming a physician assistant, Luanne has primarily worked in family practice and pediatrics. Luanne sees patients of all ages for chronic medical problems, as well as acute care concerns. She enjoys treating individuals at various life stages and assisting with preventive care so that chronic medical problems may be avoided. Luanne leads the Jacksonville Children’s and Multispecialty Clinic, P.A. Quality Improvement team. Dr. Ahlberg received his medical degree from Loma Linda School of Medicine in California while completing his residency at East Carolina University in Greenville North Carolina. He is licensed by the NC Medical Board for the practice of general Psychiatry and is available for the consultation and treatment of adults and children of all ages. In addition to general Psychiatry, Dr. Ahlberg is Board Certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine and is a fellow with the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Ahlberg provides outpatient behavioral health treatment services at the offices at JCMC, and also travels to communities in Eastern North Carolina where he provides treatment for underserved populations. Further, Dr. Ahlberg is also licensed to practice medicine in the states of Florida and California while also engaging in the practice of Tele-Psychiatry to help ensure that his patients can continue to receive care from him even if relocated to one of these areas. Dr. Ahlberg enjoys his work as a medical doctor. Debra Livingston-Green is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Originally from Asheville, NC, she graduated from the University of California San Fransisco, and returned to NC to work. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association as well as being a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Debra has been a registered nurse for many years and has worked in various areas including Surgical/Trauma ICU, the Emergency Department and recovery room. She also has an interest in therapeutic humor, has been a member of the American Association of Therapeutic Humor. She has given workshops on the healing effects of humor and assisted in developing a humor cart for hospitalized patients.

Believing that Mental Health and the physical body are closely connected she returned to school a few years ago to obtain her Masters in Nursing with a specialty as a nurse practitioner in psychiatry and mental health. She did internships at the VA Medical Center in San Francisco and in other acute care setting. Her interests include the treatment of PTSD, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Anxiety and Depression. For recreation she enjoys kayaking, paddle boarding, bicycling, writing and likes spending time with her dogs.

Dr. Yvette Longoria has over 30 years of experience in the medical field. Her primary specialization is surgery with significant clinical expertise in Urgent Care Medicine. Dr. Longoria attended the Universidad de Monterrey in Nuevo Leon, Mexico where she earned her medical degree. From 1977-1978 she participated in a rotating internship at the Regina General Hospital-University of Saskatchewan located in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. In 1978 Dr. Longoria began a General Surgery Residency with the Charleston Area Medical Center located in Charleston, West Virginia, and from 1982 -1983 she served as the Chief Surgical Resident. Later in 1983, she served in a junior faculty position as an Instructor of Surgery at the Charleston Area Medical Center.

From 1984-1990, Dr. Longoria served as an Attending General and Vascular Surgeon at the Bluefield-Princeton Community Hospital located in Bluefield, West Virginia. During this time she also served as the Interim Director and Staff Emergency Department Physician at the Humana Hospital also located in Bluefield, West Virginia. From 1990-1995, Dr. Longoria practiced at the Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital, and from 1990-1991 served at the Alternate Director and Staff Emergency Department Physician. During her tenure with the Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital Dr. Longoria also provided medical services at the Cherry Point Naval Hospital aboard Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina. Dr. Longoria served 22 years an Emergency Department Staff Physician with the Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Dr. Longoria joined the Jacksonville Children’s and Multispecialty Clinic, P.A. in 2011 where she serves as the primary care provider for its’ Urgent Care Clinic. Thereafter, Dr. Leong sub-specialized in Gastroenterology. He spent 1 year at the Brody School of Medicine, Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, N.C.2 further years of training was then completed at Palmetto Richland Hospital and the William Jennings Bryan Dorn Veteran’s Hospital in Columbia S.C. Dr. Kiem Hioe specializes in allergy, immunology, and asthma for all ages. Dr. Hioe has over 26 years of clinical experience and is a member of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Pediatrics. He attended the University Catholique De Louvain, Faculte De Medicine located in Bruxelles, Belgium where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine. He also worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Katuri Medical College & Hospital. He subsequently completed Pediatric residency and a fellowship in Neonatology at Pitt Country Memorial Hospital in Greenville NC. Dr. Lanka serves as a Neonatologist at Onslow Memorial Hospital and Jacksonville Children’s and Multispecialty Clinic.
